Downloaded the EOS webcam utility. Rebooted computer. When I plug the camera in and go to zoom, a variety of things happen. 1. Either a blank screen. 2. The EOS webcam utlity logo. 3. Then, when I try to click start video, I get yellow text boxes in the corner "Failed to connect to camera, choose another camera".
An eSIM should not make any difference. Its an embedded chip in the phone that holds the IMEI info, same as a removeable SIM. Your phone does not need cellular reception to connect to Canon Connect. You should not need to disable connection to your cellular network via eSIM or SIM card to use the Wi-Fi connection features in the CC App.
In fact, most of the time, the EOS Utility launcher would wake up and try to default to make a wireless connection, this despite being activated by a USB cable. In the end, I almost always had to go into the Start Menu and launch the correct EOS Utility by hand.
To reconnect the camera via Wi-Fi to a computer that you have connected to and registered connection settings for in the past, turn the camera on, press the < > button, select the item to connect to via Wi-Fi from the displayed history, and then press < > and start EOS Utility on the computer.
